Boston Cream Cupcakes

Love Boston Cream Pie? Then you've gotta try...

BOSTON CREAM CUPCAKES
I found the recipe on the Rachel's Favorite Recipes Blog. I had to make them after I saw them. They looked way too yummy to pass up!

 Here's what I used:

Here are the ingredients and instructions:

First, I made my Yellow cupcakes.

Next, I unwrapped them all and sliced them in half.

Then I made my custard.

And stuffed the cupcakes with the creamy custard.
I found it easiest to 'frost' the bottom side of the top and then place the custard side onto the bottom of the cupcake.

Then I made the granache and drizzled it onto the tops of the cupcakes.
Make sure to refridgerate these when not being eaten...because of the custard!

I could have eaten all of these. Luckily I didn't. I gave as many away as I could! hehe
Hope you enjoy making and eating these as much as I did!

Discovery Box for Kids

Discovery Box for Kids

I got this great idea from a very talented lady. Thanks Aly for the idea. My daughter loves it. I put Macaroni noodles, and dried Pinto Beans in a large Tupperware.
And added little toys that I found and also wrote all the letters on
cut up file folder that I wasn't using(because it was hard). Put a shovel
for digging, although my daughter loves to use her hands more than the shovel.

Lots of fun for kids. I put girly things in the box for my daughter, but you can
also make it specific for your child. Fun indoor project. And make sure you have
a container that can close tightly. You don't want beans everywhere.

Easter Marshmallows

Easter Marshmallows
One of the easiest and yummiest recipes you will ever find.
Ingredients
3 packages unflavored gelatin
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
Confectioners' sugar, for dusting
Toasted Coconut, or Sprinkles
Sprinkle Coconut or Sprinkles in an 8 by 12-inch nonmetal pan.
Combine the gelatin and 1/2 cup of cold water in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the whisk attachment and allow to sit while you make the syrup.
Meanwhile, combine the sugar, corn syrup, salt, and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan and cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Raise the heat to high and cook until the syrup reaches 240 degrees F on a candy thermometer. (It's about 5 minutes) Remove from heat.

With the mixer on low speed, slowly pour the sugar syrup into the dissolved gelatin. Put the mixer on high speed and whip until the mixture is very thick, about 15 minutes. Add the vanilla and mix thoroughly.

Pour the marshmallow batter on top the the Coconut or Sprinkles, with damp hands. Sprinkle Coconut or sprinkles on top. Allow to dry uncovered at room temperature overnight.

Remove the marshmallows from the pan and cut into squares. Roll the sides of each piece carefully in confectioners' sugar. Store uncovered at room temperature.

I have made this recipe many times and it always turns out great. I love it with the toasted coconut's but my husband is not a fan of coconut so I have also made it with sprinkles instead. And it is just as good that way too. I have also put food coloring, and that makes it a lot of fun. Recipe from the Food Network's Barefoot Contessa 2002.
XOXO-

Peeps Bunny Bites
Here's what you need!

I split up the sprinkles so that I could easily dip the peeps in them from the melted chocolate.

Once they're done, let the chocolate set and dry and you're done.

These taste amazing too!

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Another Pink & Black Baby Shower

You may remember that we recently posted a party idea for a Pink & Black Baby Shower. Well, considering I had about 4 baby showers, I am sharing another one! This one was thrown for me by my dear friend Katie and it turned out great!

PINK & BLACK BABY SHOWER, #2
There was yummy food and hand wrapped loppipop washcloths, plus personalized water bottles!

Those are the Thank You cards, with pre-filled out addresses by all the guests. Plus cute little goodie bags with chocolates wrapped in pink!

 Adorable right?

Thanks Katie for such a wonderful shower!

Happy Spring Sign

Happy Spring Sign

I needed a quick decoration project from things that I had so I came up with this Happy Spring Sign. All you need is, scissors, printed out letters (you can draw them yourself too), string or twine, and small clothes pins.
First you cut out the letters.

I tied the string to pins and pinned them to the wall. Then I clipped the letters onto the string and you have a cheap sign that looks pretty cute. You can do this with any words and any Holiday. I hung it in front of my mirror in my family room. I sometimes get sick of that bare mirror, and now I have something to look at instead of myself.
