BRAVE Birthday Party

I recently threw my daughter, Scotlin, a Brave Birthday Party for her 3rd birthday!

Erin actually made the invites! She did a great job! They were perfect!

I decided not to make the cake myself, and I probably should have! I didn't really like how this one turned out, but the characters on top made it look better!

I made the water bottle liners from a template I found somewhere.

We got some pictures taken of her in this Merida costume especially for her birthday...so I had them printed on cardstock and made her a poster to display at the party.

I think she looks amazing with that red curly hair! hehe

I made a little banner with her name on it.

I also made little gift bags. Can't get any cheaper than paper bags. I filled them with various things like: Brave Fruit Snacks and Miniature Candy Bars and Goldfish Snacks.

I also made these up and put them in the bags as well...

Shortbread cookies and Strawberry filled cookies.

Vanilla Bear Paw Cupcakes with Jr. Mints and Fudge covered OREOS.

Fresh Strawberries with Homemade Devonshire Cream. 

Scones and a Blueberry Walnut Salad with Feta and Cucumbers.

Scotlin had such a fun party! Can't wait to throw her another one next year.

Ice Cream Cupcakes

This is a super simple way to get your Cupcakes to look like Ice Cream Cones, without having them fall over in the oven or while frosting them.

I used chocolate cake box mix and frosting from a jar. My cupcake pan has seen better days. 

Get your cake mix ready and set aside. Cut strips of tin foil and surround the cones in your cupcake pan so they stay up and don't budge. 

Pour the cake directly into the cones 3/4 full and bake according to the package or recipe directions.

Let cool and frost. I added some fun sprinkles too to make it look more ice-creamy. 

If the cake runs over the side, it looks like real ice cream dripping down the cone.

I actually had a box that I cut holes in the bottom of to display these with.

TinkerBell Birthday Party

Business First 
You've probably noticed that we've changed some things around here.
We are so pleased with our blog's new look and we hope all of you grabbed our new blog button! Hopefully you like the new look as well. We've also made another little change...no more schedule! Yay for us! We just realized how busy we really were and decided that we were overbooking ourselves. Hope you don't mind. We will be doing bi- to tri- weekly posts with the main themes of Party Ideas, Recipes and Crafts! We are not getting rid of the Giveaways, so don't worry! BIRTHDAY

We recently celebrated our one and only child's FIRST birthday! It was so much fun and I feel like I've been planning it for forever...at least the last 6 months! hehe

Here are some of the fine details that I put together for her special day...

I purchased the image file for the invites on Etsy and then I printed them and cut them out and attached them to shiny lavender and lime cardstock!

I handmade the envelopes so they would fit perfectly and sealed them with the cutest sparkly stickers!

This is what she wore. I also purchased this outfit on Etsy! I don't have a sewing machine so I get a lot of things on there! hehe

Erin bought the wings and tutu as an early birthday present, which totally made the outfit, as you'll see below!

I made her a special bow to wear!!!

I made a Birthday Banner out of different cardstocks and ribbon, plus some cute TinkerBell stickers!

I made custom Coloring Books!

I made custom gift bags and made sure to embellish all of the minor details!

I made her a little Birthday Cake Topper, actually because I forgot to leave room on the cake for "Happy Birthday Scotlin".

I custom made Cupcake Toppers. I didn't have a punch for the 2" scalloped cirlces so I had to buy those on Etsy too!

I made lime and lavender colored (not flavored) vanilla cupcakes topped with fluffy white frosting!

I bought most of the decorations at Party City...

I made The Cake - first and last time making fondant...that was rough!

I had little pots to paint and flowers to plant for all the guests that wanted to do something while they visited.


We had such an amazing time and I think everything turned out great. I don't think I have any more energy to do a homemade party like this next year, so it's off to Chucky Cheese for her 2nd birthday...maybe I'll work up enough energy for her 3rd birthday! hehe
