HOT PINK & ZEBRA BIRTHDAY PARTY

I think I saw these on Pinterest! I just made dark chocolate fudge cupcakes and used a hot pink frosting with sprinkles (from Target) and added the Hersheys Hugs on top! Cute right? I got the zebra cake stand from Party City! 

This was the invite design I bought on Etsy! And as you can see, it came with a free banner and a thank you card!

I got the streamers, balloons, napkins, plates, cutlery, pink bowls, cups, tablecloth, and cake stand all from Party City! For the water bottles, I bought zebra duct tape and wrapped a small strip around each one.

In the goodie bags I think I put different pink and black candies! I bought the actual zebra bags from Party City as well.

I got the adorable and delicious cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes! They even customized the top for me to match the color theme.

In the bowls are Hersheys Hugs and Kisses, mini Oreos, and black, white and pink Sixlets. Then I used extra zebra cupcake holders/tins as little snack cups.

I thought everything went well and overall I don't think I ended up spending that much to put it all together.

BRAVE Birthday Party

I recently threw my daughter, Scotlin, a Brave Birthday Party for her 3rd birthday!

Erin actually made the invites! She did a great job! They were perfect!

I decided not to make the cake myself, and I probably should have! I didn't really like how this one turned out, but the characters on top made it look better!

I made the water bottle liners from a template I found somewhere.

We got some pictures taken of her in this Merida costume especially for her birthday...so I had them printed on cardstock and made her a poster to display at the party.

I think she looks amazing with that red curly hair! hehe

I made a little banner with her name on it.

I also made little gift bags. Can't get any cheaper than paper bags. I filled them with various things like: Brave Fruit Snacks and Miniature Candy Bars and Goldfish Snacks.

I also made these up and put them in the bags as well...

Vanilla Bear Paw Cupcakes with Jr. Mints and Fudge covered OREOS.

Fresh Strawberries with Homemade Devonshire Cream. 

Scones and a Blueberry Walnut Salad with Feta and Cucumbers.

Scotlin had such a fun party! Can't wait to throw her another one next year.

Mama Monday: Crib Rail Cover

Crib Rail Cover

My first daughter Cheryl got her teeth really fast and soon became a beaver. Chewing on everything. I got some scrap fabric and ribbon together, measured the crib. All crib's have different measurement's. The first one I made was really fast, because I needed it right away. The second won I made I took my time and even sewed ribbon on the fabric for some cute detail. It was pretty easy to make too. If you don't have a sewing machine then you could use fleece fabric that doesn't fray and get some Velcro to close it together on the crib. I am all ready for my second daughter, if she starts to chew on the crib too.

Thank you Jo Frost for your wise instruction. I have recently moved my two year old daughter into a toddler bed. I have been dreading letting her out of her so-called 'holding cell' and setting her free to roam our home. The first day was great and then she realized she could get up. Great....here come's the Super Nanny Mommy. After staying up all night with her inching my way out of her room as I pick her up and put her back in her bed, over and over and over agian. She finally slept and has ever since. I don't exactly have someone holding my hand helping me though this thing called parenting, so that long night with my daughter, I kept imagining the Super Nanny there with me telling me "You can do it", and "Don't give up." THANKS is all I can say! Anything to help us Mom's from going bonkers is fantastic.
