Flower Spring Wreath

This Spring wreath with full flowers and personalized letter is really easy to make. 

I wanted to show off the natural branches, so I kept it simple. 

ALL YOU NEED:

1 round Vine wreath

1 Lg Letter - first of your last name

Ribbon - about 3-5 feet (for hanging and filling in gaps)

3 Lg flowers - I used Hydrangeas

DIRECTIONS:
I covered the letter with kraft glue and a piece of scrap booking paper.
Then I tied the letter on with kraft wire and hot glue.
I cut the flower stems off and also attached them with kraft wire and hot glue.
After I put the flowers on, there was a large gap underneath them, so I put some ribbon on with hot glue and filled it in.
Then I used another style of ribbon I had to loop through the wreath and hang it on my door.



It turned out really good. This was one of the easiest wreath's that I have made.
And I am very happy with the results.

Get Krafty Wednesday: Book Frame

Book Frames

This was one of the funnest and easiest projects that I have done. When my daughter turned one we had pictures taken and I wanted to give them to the grandparents, but in a creative way. The only things I bought were some old sturdy children's books at a thrift store. I gathered together some paper, ribbon, buttons, decoupage and ink. The ink is to make the paper and pictures look worn. First I cleaned the books a little. Decoupaged the paper on the front only, let dry, added the pictures and more paper. I printed out my little girls name on the computer and inked every piece of paper that I put on it. You can get ink, paper, ribbon and buttons at a craft store. I threaded the buttons and hot glued the ribbon and buttons on. Make sure to tie the cute bow too. I made it for the grandparents, but you could make it for anyone. For Father's Day, Mother's Day, any Holiday or just because.

Mama Monday: Wooden Name Letters

We both made Wooden Name Letters for our daughters. If you aren't very crafty and you want to make these, don't worry they are super easy to make.

Here are Erin's ideas: All you do is buy some wooden letters at a craft store or online. With my first daughter, Cheryl, I went to Roberts crafts and found some pre-painted black letters. I have redone Cheryl's letters twice. I just added the paper on top of the old paper and you can't even tell. With my second daughter, June, I couldn't find letters that I wanted so I found some online that were also prepainted black. Both sets of letters were really inexpensive to buy. I then bought some fun paper. I did a girly jungle theme in my girls room so I got jungle paper. I traced out the paper on the letter's, cut out the paper and fit it on the letters. It doesn't have to be a exact match. You can't really tell once it's on the wall. I just used plain old Elmer's glue to glue the paper on...it's all I had at the time.  I hot glued some really cute ribbon on the backs (which doesn't have to be perfect either). It's much easier to tie the ribbon first then glue the ribbon on, if you want to do bows. You can get the ribbon and a glue gun at a craft store also. I had a couple of button's laying around, so I glued them on too. And viola, fancy letters that you didn't have to pay a fortune for and that are personalized to your style.

Here are Joi's ideas: Basically I did the same thing as Erin, except that I bought unpainted wooden letters and painted the sides black then after the paint dried, I traced the paper around the letters and cut them out to fit. Then I mod podged the paper to the wood and presto! I attached them to my daughter's bedroom wall with velcro so that I could adjust them on the wall easier!

You can also create any letters for your home. Like Welcome, Family, Love and you last name. It was a lot of fun to make, so get your girlfriends together and start crafting.

Get Krafty Wednesday: Heart Wreath

Heart Wreath

This is the easiest wreath to make and you can pretty

much make it for any season, in any color, but since

I didn't have a wreath for February, I decided to do

one Valentines Day themed!

I can't remember how I got the idea. I was just

thinking about how I would make a heart wreath

for little to no money with things that I already

had and the idea pretty much just came to me!

 Basically you bend a wire hanger into the shape

of a heart with the hanging part at the top V.

Then you cut scraps of fabric...any size, and

shape. I madea combination of pink, white

and red...basic LOVE day colors! haha

Mine are in between 5-7 inches long and
about an inch or so wide.

Then you tie all the scraps around the heart

part. It takes a little time and you may have

to cut more scraps or have too many but

the finished product looks sooo cute!

Finish it off with a cute bow at the top

and you're done!

Mama Monday: Hanging Ribbon Bow Holders

Hanging Ribbon Bow Holders

This is the finished product!

What you'll need to start is:

Acrylic Paint for the border of the plaque.

A wooden plaque...they come kinda rough so sand all the edges.
I actually didn't have any sand paper so I ended up 'sanding' it
with one of my nail buffers.
Whatever does the job right? haha

Light scrapbook paper for black letters or

dark scrapbook paper for white letters.

You'll trace and cut the paper to fit the top of the wood plaque.

Mod Podge! Can't live without this stuff!

They also have it in a glossy finish as well, if you prefer that instead.

Alphabet letter sticker decals.

Grosgrain Ribbon! You can use any sizes you like, but I used

3/8" for the small bows and 5/8" for the hanging ribbons

and the bow at the top.

So, I started with painting the edge of the plaque.

I let it dry and then traced and cut out my scrapbook paper

to fit the top. Then I put on my letters to spell my daughter's name,

SCOTLIN, and the word 'BOWS'. You can make it say whatever

you want like: PRINCESS or just BOWS.

Then I mod podged the paper down and onto the plaque

 and along the sides. Let it completely dry before you start the next step.

After the front is dry, I glued on the hanging ribbons,

which I cut to be about 20 inches (if I remember correctly)

and the top ribbons as well.

  Next, I made cute little bows and glued those on.

Before you glue these on, make sure and heat seal the edges.
