Creamy Cheesy Potatoes, otherwise known as Funeral Potatoes.
I've been told 'Funeral Potatoes' is a kind of gruesome name for them, so I changed it.
I guess it's a well known dish for showing up at funeral gatherings.
INGREDIENTS:
1 32oz. bag - shredded hashbrowns
2 cans - cream of mushroom soup
2 cups - sour cream
1/2 cup - melted butter
1 sm. pkg - grated cheese or 2-3 cups of grated cheese
2 cups - crushed cornflakes or 4 uncrushed cornflakes
2 tbsps - melted butter
Put hashbrowns into a 9x13" baking dish and mix in grated cheese.
Combine soup, sour cream and 1/2 cup of the melted butter.
Gently blend into potatoes and cheese.
Take 4 cups of cornflakes and put them in a plastic storage bag.
Crush cornflakes in bag.
Add 2 tbsps of butter and mix together.
Sprinkle on top of potatoes mixture.
Bake at 350* for 30-35 minutes.
Yummer Nummers! I love this stuff! I can't get enough! Hope you like it too!

Agreed, that's an awful name for something so yummy. We call these "Party Potatoes" instead of funeral potatoes.
